Services & Treatment
Hand Surgery of Northern Michigan offers treatment for disorders of the hand and upper extremity.
Although many people with hand injuries or disease see a primary care or emergency room physician first, a specialist may be best suited to treat such conditions.
Depending on the problem, treatment varies. Non-surgical approaches offer solutions for many of our patients. These include:
- casts or splints
- cortisone injections
- hand therapy
- medication: analgesics/antibiotics.
For more severe situations, surgery may be required. We perform:
- full surgical procedures
- arthroscopy and microvascular surgery
When appropriate, we prescribe occupational therapy with our certified hand therapists.
